Hey there, I'm Rocky!
I’m not some top-shelf Christian you can’t reach. I’m right here with you, learning, struggling, and walking with Jesus every step of the way. I tell people that I had to preach my sermon to my own soul before it even gets to you! I serve as a pastor, a discipler, and a fellow traveler who believes ordinary people can live Spirit-filled lives with credibility, compassion, and conviction.
I grew up in Tupelo, MS and attended college at the University of Mississippi or better known by SEC folks as Ole Miss. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology there. My wife, Kelcie, and I then moved to Kentucky where I attended Asbury Theological Seminary. I originally went for a Mental Health Counseling degree. I took one Inductive Bible Study class, and then I was convinced that I had to take Greek and Hebrew. The only way I could do that was to change course at pursue a Master of Divinity. I earned my M.Div in 2018. Since then, Kelcie and I came back home to Mississippi. For nearly a decade, I have been serving as a local pastor in Jackson, MS at Christ United. I love this city! I love what it is, and I love what it still can be!
My Mission Field Starts Here!
It all starts with this amazing family God has blessed me with! I am married to my wife, Kelcie! She has been putting up with me since 2009. That is the part where you are supposed to laugh! I have been blessed to see the woman of God she has been and is still being shaped into. I cover her, and she covers me! I am a proud Girl Dad! Kelcie and I have been blessed with two beautiful girls---Bellamie and Tegan! We teach them, and they teach us. Before I go into my Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth, my mission field starts with the discipleship of this family and overflows into the world around me.

I have been a disciple of Jesus since December 31, 2008. Someone helped me understand that I matter to Jesus, and I have been trying to do that for others ever since.
